Labs 'n Life- an initiative providing postive anticipation for youth at risk.
Volunteers
John and (princess) Dianna have brought War (Cavajal Labcorps Luvnwar) to the battlefield, and have supported us at trainings, beach walks and shows - even with equipment! Dianna has assisted crews with the preparation of morning tea. The Herseys have been ardent supporters of Labs 'n Life with a succession of dogs passing through their house! Oscar, Finn and Thatcher - with the latter claiming permanent residence status! They turned off the TV when Thatcher had her two pups -Reyne and Blair - and delighted in the entertainment they provided.
Christine, Amanda, Andrew and Mark have taken Charlie for 2 weeks - and they understand that at times time apppears to stand still! Charlie has been successfully placed with his new family. They have lent us the effervescent Roxie and made tie down stakes and contributed in so many other very meaningful ways. They have now taken Indigo - LNL's first brood bitch - on board for the term of her natural life. Indigo has been successful in the show ring and in tracking trials, and has recently been mated to produce Labs 'n Life's first home grown litter.
Agatha, who resides with Kym, Felicity, Simon and Ruby, will also produce a litter this year.
Striker makes Mason very proud and feels protected; Dukey has given Johnny the confidence attend school; and Finn is simply the best one for Matthew to unload conversations re frustrations etc onto. Although all four placed dogs were initially aimed at providing assistance for the ASD young people, it is significant that they also assist the entire family.
Ross delivers Saga to programmes on a weekly basis, Leia and Julie and Bec and their families house programme dogs and integrate them into their families. Paul and Mark pick up and deliver dogs for programme use.
Mari has been nothing short of fantastic with her ability to engage young people and secure trust and respect. She has certainly opened up her heart to the young people at Labs 'n Life. Mari's Galestorm Labradors contribute significantly to the success of Labs 'n Life.
Andrew Daly, Chris Muldoon and staff have assisted significantly in the setting up of Labs 'n Life. Their expert knowledge has assisted us to actually get up and running. Thankyou Chris for supporting the seeds of a vision.
SACA have been very supportive of Labs 'n Life, enabling our young people to participate in formal competitions for dogs, in addition to making their grounds available for training.
A special thankyou to Wendy who has supported us and put us in touch with the great young people who comprise Labs 'n Life.
